Paper series 2016

This series uses various materials as the base of artistic experimentation. The other series are the direct or indirect results of this research. The work on watercolor paper has opened to me the possibility of playing with structure and mixtures of different techniques like Chinese ink, watercolor, acrylic, collage, wine, coffee and bleach. Some art works of this series are influenced by the use of the monotype technique, playing with rendering similar to silk-screen print. This type of technique is representative of a theme which is developed in this series; the theme of the imprint, in the broad sense. The imprint is the guiding principle of the different universes crossing the pieces: from the depth and almost black/white photographical images created by the Chinese ink, to the fluid and almost fluorescent colors emerging from the watercolor. Each universe represents how time has left its own track : on the rest of a dinning table ( Dining Rest ), on the split up of a space ( Fragment Portrait ) or on black stripes without beginning or end ( Hazy Stripes 1, 2, 3 ). These tracks are like wrinkles which date us and are part of our temporality. They are also representative of our way on earth and our anthropocenic damages.
