Lost & Found series 2017

This series consists of two art works, one of red velvet, Velvet Abstraction and the other of black coat, Diptych Unconscious found as they are. They are the relics of an industrial box thrown as waste. This set collects and exhibits as an art work like an abstract ready-made. Velvet Abstraction is the imprint left by time. The deterioration of the material by the scratches on the red velvet reflects a division of the space where the impact of the color, expresses a feeling of depth. This representation of a past image is nostalgic of things forgotten. From its division we can link two aspects, merging in a same memory. Diptych Unconscious is linked to Velvet Abstraction by the division of the space, in this case more pronounced like a compartmentalization. This compartmentalization is like a window, representative of a reality trough which we lose ourselves in the abstraction of a memory. The similarity between both art works is defined by this strange relationship between real and unreal and, present and past, lets us perceive the duality in which we are composed. This duality which urges us to wonder about our temporality, and, about the search of a symbiosis, is the reflection of our balance, when past and present are no more in confrontation.
